Rector Search Update
St. Mary’s is moving forward in the search for our next rector, and we are grateful for the prayers and support of our parish community throughout this important season.
Parish Profile
Our Parish Profile is now posted on the Diocese of Texas website. The profile provides potential candidates with an overview of St. Mary’s, including our history, ministries, congregation, community, strengths, and opportunities for growth.
Our search is also being shared through the Episcopal Church’s national transition and deployment resources, allowing clergy from across the country who are seeking a new call to learn more about St. Mary’s and the opportunity to serve our parish.
What Happens Next?
Now that our search is active, clergy who are interested in St. Mary’s may express their interest through the Diocese. Over the coming months, names of potential candidates will be gathered and reviewed.
The Rev. Kellaura Johnson, our diocesan Transition Officer, will work closely with the Vestry throughout this process. She will provide training and guidance to help the Vestry prepare for candidate interviews, evaluate candidates, and prayerfully discern who may be called to serve as St. Mary’s next rector.
This process takes time, and we are committed to giving it the prayerful attention it deserves. The Rev. Mark Wilkinson and the Rev. Wendy Wilkinson, our interim clergy, will continue to support St. Mary’s throughout this journey.
Please Keep St. Mary’s in Your Prayers
We invite our entire parish family to continue praying for St. Mary’s, our Vestry, the potential candidates, and all those involved in this search.
We trust that God is guiding St. Mary’s through this process and preparing the right person to lead our parish into the future.
Questions are always welcome. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to a member of the Vestry if you have questions or would like to learn more about the search process as we move through this important time together.
