Ministries > Open Campus Project
We are scheduled to begin Michael Sliva's Eagle Scout project on July 6 - July 9, 2008. We will also be kicking off several other phases of the Open Campus project at the same time. Please feel free to join us at any time between 8:00am and 4:00pm on those days. All you will need is a pair of good work gloves and bring your own refreshments (water, Gatorade, etc.) If you can't make it out, we will be scheduling other Friday/Saturday work days in the coming months.

We are blessed with a beautiful church campus at St Mary's, with many features including the outdoor worship area, prayer path, Annunciation sculpture, playground, flower beds, and lots of trees! The Open Campus Project will help to make all these features more accessible, safe, and welcoming for St Mary's parishioners and our neighbors. One unifying feature will be a pathway across the campus to link the sculpture the rest of our campus. All this is possible due to a generous anonymous donation which was given with the request that the project be completed "quickly." Chip Vacek has stepped forward to lead the project and will be inviting the congregation to help out with special work days to do some planting. Take a look at some of the concept drawings, and check back to see about the progress and how you can help out.

Working outdoors, in God's very good creation is a wonderful way to pray. If you are interested in helping to tend the plants and flowerbeds on the campus, and interested in learning more about plants, please let us know. We will be organizing a group help keep our campus looking beautiful, for the Glory of God.
