Rev. Beth has served as rector of St. Mary’s for 19 years. Before being called to the priesthood, she enjoyed a rich career in special education. As a Daughter of the King and a Benedictine Oblate, Rev. Fain encourages others to a strong prayer life as well as a life balance with God at the center. Her son and daughter-in-law live in Bend, Oregon and her daughter lives in New York and is the author of the Homesick Texan cookbooks.
People ask her about: serving in ministry, joining St. Mary’s, and anything else you’re pondering.
Little known fact: She is “Grandma Texas” to her grandsons, Austin and Jonas, who live in Oregon.
Russ Oechsel was ordained as deacon ten years ago and also serves as Archdeacon for the Diocese of Texas. His ministry focus is mission opportunities outside the walls of St. Mary’s such as disaster relief and rebuilding efforts. Prior to ordination, Russ worked in human resources in the oil and gas industry.
People ask him about: feeding the homeless in our area, Men’s Bible Study, and his grandchildren, including Brian and Matthew, Chloe, and Jack (triplets!) who attend St. Mary’s.
Little known fact: Deacon Russ loves cars and motorcycles and has an automotive lift in his garage to indulge his hobby.
